Vinegar Vinegar, that most useful and ancient of condiments, was
discovered, almost certainly by accident, when some ancient winemaker
carelessly left an amphora of wine open and exposed to the activity of
aerobic bacteria. The ancient Sumerians valued it as a condiment, a
preservative, a medicine and even as an antibiotic. Our range of fine
vinegars come from the best grape varieties and wine blends. Stored in
casks while they slowly become vinegar, they are then filtered, bottled
and matured. Produced by nature, with a little help from our experts,
these richly individual vinegars are essential to any kitchen. |
